There are many ways today to create a web environment for individual or group use. When I set about to create this space I had in mind that it should be:
- independent from either institution
- quick to set up
- easy to manage
- not place a financial burden on U:SOAR
Currently the space is hosted on blogger.com, a free blog environment that any one may use. I hope that members will create their own blogs on blogger.com and link to and from this blog. Members will have rights to post on the U:SOAR blog and thus participate in reaching U:SOAR's vision of learning through sharing of experiences.
The blog environment may not be the ideal environment for an academic interest group but already we have created a web area with levels throug the use of different blogs. For a start it should be adequate and from here the web presence of U:SOAR may grow according to member requirements.
